Human Security

At first blush, President Donald Trump is correct to identify the safety of the American Republic and its citizens as a top concern for him, and his administration. On this, there is no daylight between him and his predecessor, as well as the vast majority of the American people.

To Afrikans outside the country, I’m sure you are asking yourself: What is happening in South Afrika right now? You probably hear/see reports about violent clashes, burning of houses and attacks on innocent people. Black South Afrikans attacking Afrikans from other countries.

The 4th of March is considered a landmark date for the victims of Darfur Genocide in Sudan. It marks the beginning of the long awaited hope for justice.

Yesterday, the Minister of Finance of South Africa stood up in the circus that passes itself off as a national parliament and without any sense of irony whatsoever declared that the South African state’s budget for 2017 was redistributive and progressive.
