INTERNATIONAL ACTION NETWORK ON SMALL ARMS
IANSA is a fast growing international network of 340 organisations from
71 countries working to save lives and stop gun violence. IANSA aims to
make a significant impact on the development of policies at local,
national, regional and international levels by co-ordinating
non-governmental responses to governmental initiatives to tackle small
arms.
IANSA DIRECTOR
35 - 40,000 GBP per annum, 2 year renewable contract based in London
IANSA is looking for a strategic and dynamic person to lead the Network
of NGOs so that they may have a real impact on saving lives and stopping
gun violence. The new Director will guide IANSA through an important
growth phase, developing regional networks and building a global
movement. He/she will ensure IANSA plays a leading role in the small
arms debate and help build the profile of the network. All applicants
should have a university degree, 10-15 years professional experience,
including work in the South and North and excellent spoken and written
English plus one UN language. A proven track record as an effective
leader and manager, plus substantial experience in fundraising and
excellent communication skills are essential.
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
24, 000 GBP per annum, 2 year renewable contract based in London
IANSA is looking for an experienced person, who will develop a global
communications strategy for the Network, and with participants develop
messages and media plans for thematic campaigns and regional action.
Reporting to the Director, he/she will manage information flows within
the IANSA network and the overall development of the website. All
applicants should have a university degree, 10 years professional
experience in relevant field, practical or theoretical understanding of
small arms issues and excellent spoken and written English (plus one UN
language desirable). Creative writing skills with ability to simplify
complex materials are essential.
