The Southern African Non-Governmental Organisation Network (SANGONeT)is currently expanding the focus and scope of its ICT activities in support of Southern African CSOs. An important part of SANGONeT's work is providing access to and implementing a range of web services. This includes website design, development and maintenance of existing websites. It is looking for a web designer.

The Southern African Non-Governmental Organisation Network (SANGONeT) has been providing networking, information and training services to Southern African civil society organisations (CSOs) since its inception in 1987. SANGONeT's mission is to be a facilitator in the effective and empowering use of information communication technology
(ICT) tools by development and social justice actors in Southern Africa.

SANGONeT is currently expanding the focus and scope of its ICT activities in support of Southern African CSOs. An important part of SANGONeT's work is providing access to and implementing a range of web services. This includes website design, development and
maintenance of existing websites. As a result, the following position is available:

Web Designer

SANGONeT's rapidly expanding pool of clients requires the services of an additional web designer to assist the existing Media Technologies team.

Key areas of responsibility will include the following:

* Liaise with clients, conduct meetings and formulate web strategies;
* Plan, design and implement websites within tight deadlines;
* Ensure that browser independent clean coding enables the websites to be accessible over a variety of platforms.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

* Mastery over technology and computing systems, especially Windows 98/NT/XP;
* Proven skills in Adobe Photoshop and DreamWeaver; JavaScript and Flash skills are preferable;
* Exhaustive comprehension of File Transfer Protocol;
* Excellent File Management capacity;
* A minimum of three websites, currently online, wholly designed by the candidate;
* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
* Ability to cope with rapidly evolving technologies.

Awareness and understanding of Southern Africa's development sector would be an advantage.
