The National Clearinghouse on Youth Employment (NCYE) is seeking a qualified applicant for the following position:

Library Support Specialist (Full-time)

Key Tasks Are:
-----------------------

To source, collate and capture relevant employment and entrepreneurship information

To develop and maintain the NCYE's information databases

To maintain and expand the NCYE's in-house library

To process information requests and other referrals from the public

To provide general office support

Skills and Experience Required:
-----------------------------------------------

Relevant experience and qualifications in library/ information management would be advantageous

Must be computer literate. Especially in MS Office

Must have working knowledge of database management

Must have experience in managing print and other media information
resources

Must be able to communicate in at least two South African languages

Other Requirements:
------------------------------

Incumbent must be able to start at the beginning of April 2002

The NCYE, a national youth outreach, information and education project is being operated under contract to USAID/ NYC.

The incumbent will be based in Pretoria at the NCYE offices.

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The deadline for applications is 6 March 2002 close of business.
