Training of FACILIATORS (tof)

April 12-21 2002

This 10 day course is the first ever Training of Facilitators run by ICA in South Africa.

The course will provide a comprehensive training in facilitation methods and skills based on the Technology of Participation developed over 35 years by the Institute of Cultural Affairs

The course will include:

a.. Group Facilitation Methods
b.. Youth as Facilitative Leaders
c.. Participatory Strategic Planning

The course will:

a.. Equip participants with practical group facilitation methods
b.. Give participants the opportunity to practise these methods with each other
c.. Clarify the role of facilitators in the participatory development process
d.. Train participants to become ICA-qualified trainers and facilitators

The course is for:

a.. People with no previous experience of facilitation who wish to
develop their skills, and
b.. Existing and experienced facilitators who wish to learn new skills and deepen their knowledge of facilitation methods

Course Details

a.. Course facilitators will be experienced staff from ICA USA and ICA Zimbabwe.
b.. There are a maximum of 30 places available, which will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
c..The total cost of the course is R 1 500, which includes all training & materials, food, accommodation and transport to the venue
d.. A non-refundable deposit of R 150 confirms your place on the course.
e.. All payments must be completed by Friday 29th March 2002.
f.. Payments completed by Friday 1st March 2002 and members of Itereleng : ICA (South Africa) will qualify for a 10% discount (total R 1 350) a.. The course will be hosted by Conquest for Life on their farm near to De Deur, Vereeniging, Gauteng.
