EISA, an internationally recognised centre for policy, research, training and information dissemination on elections and democracy in SADC countries, is looking for an Executive Director.
EISA is a not for profit section 21 company, established in 1996. EISA is an internationally recognised centre for policy, research, training and information dissemination on elections and democracy in SADC countries. It services governments, electoral commissions and civil society bodies throughout the SADC region. EISA provides technical advice and practical expertise to electoral authorities and works in partnership with civil society in promoting the process of democratic consolidation regionally.
EISA has established its professional bona fides by supporting and promoting regional democracy through its various programmes and networks that focus on gender, youth, political parties, capacity building, consensus building, conflict management, and facilitating debate on pertinent regional matters related to its core activities. The EISA office is located in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The position requires the following qualifications:
· A SADC national;
· Sound understanding of the social and political context of SADC;
· Good analytical skills and relevant academic background;
· Good organisational and diplomatic communication skills;
· Excellent English-language writing skills;
· Familiarity with organisations and networks in the SADC region;
· Fundraising skills;
· Proven track record for managing an organisation and working in a team;
· Minimum five years relevant professional experience;
· Field experience in SADC countries is desirable.
