Children First, a non government organisation that exists to promote and protect the rights and well-being of children, is looking for a full-time staff member, based in Durban, to monitor trends and developments in children's rights in these and other areas. Main tasks will be: to source and collate information, and disseminate it to Partners and the Media. This will include background research for articles in our journal, ChildrenFIRST, and other publications.
Monitoring Coordinator
Children First is a non government organisation that exists to promote and protect the rights and well-being of children.

€ a forum for sharing experience and knowledge that may help develop models of good practice for working with children;
€ a platform for debate of issues that affect children and their carers;
€ opportunities for children to express their views and concerns.
€ a tool for lobbying policy-makers and opinion formers.
We have a focus on campaigns around:
Poverty and social security
HIV/AIDS
Child Justice
We are looking for a full-time staff member, based in Durban, to monitor trends and developments in children¹s rights in these and other areas.
Main tasks will be: to source and collate information, and disseminate it to Partners and the Media. This will include background research for articles in our journal, ChildrenFIRST, and other publications.
Main skills and qualifications required are:
Good computer skills, including Internet
Data management
Basic research skills
Excellent communications skills
Bachelor¹s degree in social sciences, or three years¹ relevant experience in research/communications.
Understanding of and commitment to realising the rights of children.
