MANAGING NGO RESOURCE CENTRES

Development organizations around the world recognize the power of
information to raise awareness and mobilize action for social change.

The Certificate in Managing NGO Resource Centres will provide participants
with the opportunity to gain or improve skills in managing information, as
well as to analyse the dynamics of indigenous knowledge, appropriate media,
information sharing and networking. During the program participants will
develop an action plan for their resource centre's contribution to the
community-based development, information and education strategies of their
organization.

This unique program is intended for those actively working in, or planning
to establish, a resource centre. Registration will be limited to 25
participants.

As a result of their gender, women have faced many obstacles in obtaining
the knowledge and skills required for decision-making positions in NGOs.

The Certificate For Women - Community Development Leadership program will
enhance and clarify concepts and theories of development and critically
examine various contemporary and leading-edge approaches. Participants will
gain specific skills in program planning and evaluation, as well as
budgeting and financial management. This Certificate Program is designed to
provide women development workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to
be effective decision-makers and to advance within their organizations.
