A new MA Program - Human Rights and Democratization - is a one-year inter-disciplinary program aiming to train human rights professionals in the field, including fact-finding, reporting, monitoring, education, lobbying, and research. Participants will obtain a thorough understanding of the legal framework, human rights instruments, and enforcement mechanisms in South Africa, Africa, and internationally.

This one-year inter-disciplinary program aims to train human rights
professionals in the field, including fact-finding, reporting, monitoring,
education, lobbying, and research. Participants will obtain a thorough
understanding of the legal framework, human rights instruments, and
enforcement mechanisms in South Africa, Africa, and internationally. This
approach follows the international trend towards understanding and promoting
human rights in a broader social and political context and not simply as a
legal construct.
