Aga Khan Education Service, Kenya is a professionally managed and dynamic non-profit organization that operates thirteen independent schools in Kenya as well as facilitates outreach programmes for educational development. Currently AKES-K is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer.

The CEO will have overall responsibility for the successful operations of the service company in all its dimensions including the quality and relevancy of its programs, financial effectiveness, management of its facilities and human resource development throughout the institution. The CEO plays a pivotal role, working closely with the Board and key staff, in developing and implementing the strategic vision and plan for the institution.

The ideal candidate for this senior position should be technically sound and competent and must have good human leadership skills, be an effective communicator and have the ability to achieve the institution's long-term strategies in a methodical manner by leveraging its resources. A Masters Degree with at least seven years of relevant and senior level experience is desirable and computer proficiency is a must. Prior experience in the educational development arena would be an asset.

Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) is a private non-profit organization that provides quality pre-school, primary, secondary, and higher secondary education services to more than 54,000 students in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Tajikistan. AKES is also developing new schools in Kyrgyzstan and Madagascar and studying the feasibility of services and facilities in Mozambique.

Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) is a non-denominational, non-profit international development agency that promotes sustainable and equitable social development in low-income countries in Asia and Africa.

AKFC and AKES are part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), a group of agencies working in areas of economic development, social development, and culture. These agencies work to improve living conditions and opportunities in specific regions of the developing world, with individual mandates that include health, education, architecture, rural development and the promotion of private enterprise.

This is a paid position.
