The African Conservation Foundation (ACF) is a UK-Registered Not For
Profit foundation, primarily concerned with education in Africa in the
areas of environment and conservation. It's aims are to promote education
and knowledge about conservation in Africa.

ACF are building and maintaining websites for NGOs and conservation groups
that can't afford the publicity for their projects. They are giving
training on the uses of the Internet and web promotion as well as offering
Seminars and Workshops on how the Internet can work for the NGOs and
conservation groups in Africa. ACF also offers GIS and Remote Sensing
skills for conservation through their specialists in this area and are
currently looking for funding to run a seminar on this subject, in Africa,
for all interested parties.

Through their website, ACF are building up a directory of all groups
working in conservation in Africa, whilst also attempting to bring these
groups together in one place with the aim of sharing of information and
research reports. One of ACF's aims is to bring together all African
species databases on the internet and shortly a National Parks and Game
Reserves area will be published.

One of the most immediate aims of ACF is to raise the funding to open
centres at strategic positions around Africa - or make use of existing
facilities in specific locations. This will allow them to work with local
groups
on the ground and provide the training and information channels that people
are asking for.
