Girls who get pregnant as a result of rape or sexual exploitation end up being double punished as they are banned from attending school and in most cases there is no access to justice for the rape ordeal, with perpetrators going unpunished.

Rural women in these arenas are caught up in extremely challenging situations of feeding and providing for their families today while trying to plan for the future – a future fraught with unknowns.

I am proud of those moments when I see girls who we have supported become leaders in the fight against the wrongs they face, shaking the ground to bring much needed changes not only to their own lives, but also to others who follow in their footsteps.
