Once again, millions of African citizens face famine and the destruction of their livelihoods. At this moment, 12 million men, women and children are in dire need of food, clean water and basic sanitation. The crisis is set to worsen and expand over the coming months.

On 8th March every year the world marks the International Women’s Day (IWD), a day recognized by all the member states of the United Nations. The IWD provides an opportunity to review how far women have come in the struggle for equality, peace and sustainable development.

Aisho Ibrahim Dhuhulow, who had been found guilty of adultery, was buried in the ground up to her neck while the men pelted her head with rocks.
