training modules for nurses in Africa prepared by the London School of
Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the University of the Western Cape, South
Africa. Funded by the Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance Project of the
Academy for Educational Development, USA.

b. takes account of the lack of resources in many hospitals and health
centres in the developing world
c. places emphasis on support for mothers and other carers of =
hospitalised children
d. recognises HIV/AIDS as a common cause of malnutrition
