There were to be few true voices from the South heard when the synchronised chatter began in Copenhagen. The idea of informed negotiation at a broad international level, and which is genuinely representative, is a dead idea.

The 'delegation of African negotiators' rumbled into Copenhagen rubbing their palms and licking their chops to load up tens of billions of dollars in carbon blood money and make a quick exit. They were disappointed. There was no gold at the end of the Copenhagen rainbow.

I have been following closely the deliberations and contestations at the United Nations Climate Change Conference ongoing in Copenhagen, Denmark.
