Call to action in support of Angolan activists
KILOMBO UK is asking all justice loving Africans, and friends of Africa, to take action to secure the unconditional release of young social justice activists arrested and detained in Angola since June 2015 for reading a book about democracy.
There are four actions we are encouraging people to take which are supported by Angolan social justice activists in the UK and Angola. They are outlined below:
1. Signing the Kilombo online petition which can be found at:
2. Attending solidarity vigils being planned by the Angolan community. Check the Kilombo UK or Kilombo Centre for Citizens' Rights and Conflict Resolution, Peki, Ghana Facebook page where details will be posted once they are confirmed. An email will also be sent as we know some of you are not on Facebook
3. Helping to raise awareness about the unlawful detention of the activists in Angolan by sharing information with individuals and organisations in your networks. Below are links to articles giving more information:

4. Taking a picture with an A4 poster with the words "Free the Angolan Activists" or "Reading Books Should Not Lead to Arrest" and share through Social Media (use the Kilombo posters attached or design your own)
