I want to believe that His Excellency President John Mahama is an honourable man. I also like to believe that, in theory, when people are appointed to public offices, they have a moral and legal duty to protect the nation’s assets for the next generation of Ghanaians.

Yes, Ghanaians are now waking up to the reality that Ghana is in another phase of its perennial ‘crisis of a neo-colonial state’. I heard this phase in the 1970s, but it never seems to go away. As Ghanaians, can we afford to live in our past glory? I am ashamed to say not anymore.

THE PERILS OF SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER

Once again, the spotlight is on Africa as four Kenyans – three political leaders and a journalist – have been indicted at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Once again, the question that has never been answered is, why Africa? And why the speed?
