Prof Deborah Bräutigam’s blog titled 'China in Africa: The Real Story' follows on from her recently released, and highly acclaimed book, 'The Dragon’s Gift'.

The recent visit to China by South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane showed clearly that the South African government has viewed BRIC as a relevant and strategic grouping, and one which South Africa cannot be excluded from.

The spotlight will fall on Sharm El’ Shaik, Egypt in November 2009 as the next chapter in Sino-African relations is forged at the occasion of the fourth Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
