Criteria for these scholarships are determined by the donor(s) and can include such items as grade point average, class rank, major, scores and/or documented need. Students who have not qualified for federal financial aid may compete for many of these scholarships, and are strongly encouraged to do so. Students who have federal or state financial aid and qualify for private donor scholarships are usually able to use them to reduce loan or work in their financial aid package.
