REGIONAL ORGANISER,
to be based in our Western Cape Office
We are looking for a person who has a passion for peace and against violence; who does not own a gun and is committed to remaining gun free at home and
at work;
She or he must:
- be eager to travel and organise Gun Free South Africa activities in the Western Cape Province
- be able to work with and mobilise communities
- be able to network with other NGO's as well as with provincial & local government
- be able to organise activities that advocate the GFSA position
- be able to conduct training workshops
- have a valid drivers licence, and preferably a car
- speak & write more than one African language (s), including Afrikaans and Xhosa
The regional organiser will also be responsible for building the organisation and help with the implementation of the Firearms Control Act. She/he should have at least 2 years experience as a project manager. This position is immediately available, or starting latest July 2002.
