Community Video Education Trust (CVET) has been in existence for years. CVET conducts entry-level video production training courses to 'bridge the gap' for those seeking entry into the film and video industry. It promotes the use of video as a development tool to empower organs of civil society to affect change, explore cultural expression and influence decision-makers. It is a resource base for emerging filmmakers as well as the development sector to access training, production equipment, local films and hands-on production experience. CVET currently operates in the Western Province
offering its programme to marginalised communities.

CVET is seeking a qualified applicant for the following contract position:

Programme Director

Key responsibilities are:

1.. Marketing and Public Relations of the organisation
2.. Overall responsibility for the management and strategic planning
a.. Establish and maintain office management policies and systems
b.. Financial management and ensuring accountability and sustainability of the organisation
c.. Manage human resource development and staff matters
d.. Handle all contractual matters
3. Projects Management
a.. Monitor implementation against targets set
b.. Refine communication and reporting systems
c.. Progress assessment & follow-up
1.. Fundraising
a.. Identify new funding sources and write proposals
b.. Donor and stakeholder liaison
c.. Manage funder accountability and reporting

Core competencies

a.. A Degree or equivalent20
a.. Has played a leading role in setting up and implementing organisational/project management at senior level
b.. Experience in fundraising and proposal writing
c.. Good financial accountability
d.. Excellent organisational management skills
e.. Human resource development management
f.. Ability to work as part of a team
g.. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
h.. Commitment to development, democratic practice and education and training access
i.. Understanding of the Film and Television industry and / or education and training will be an advantage
a.. Influencing and building sound relationships by interacting and interfacing with stakeholders across a broad spectrum in the industry locally, nationally and internationally
b.. Providing vision and strategic leadership
c.. Ensuring the allocation, management and optimisation of resources and performance of the organisation.
