STELLENBOSCH
We are an independent non-governmental
organisation, dedicated to the equitable
distribution of power and resources in the rural
areas of South Africa. To this end the focus of our
work falls in the particular needs of farm workers
in the Western Cape and elsewhere in South Africa.
The CRLS provides legal services and training in
land and labour rights, conducts policy research
and engages in advocacy and lobbying activities.
A person with a vision for and a commitment to
rural development is required to lead the
organisation as a key player in this field.
We would like to hear from persons with a tertiary
education and a proven track record of the
management of development projects and programmes
in the public, private and non governmental sector.
supplemented by:
- a knowledge of the funding environment and
agricultural sector
- knowledge of labour legislation and how it
applies to agriculture
- experience in project management and budgeting
- good business, marketing and negotiation skills
- an understanding of the role of NGO's in
transition
- ability to interpret financial information and
produce written reports
- computer literate
- language proficiency in English and Afrikaans
- valid driver's licence.
A knowledge of Xhosa will be an advantage.
