Select several organizations whose programs or locations
might interest you. Write to them, requesting their
application, schedule of projects, and all info/details.
In most cases, volunteers are responsible for making
their own roundtrip travel arrangements. Accommodations,
room and board in Africa are often provided by the host
organization, either at no cost or very inexpensively (to help
keep your costs down). Some longterm volunteer positions
(such as with the United Nations Volunteers [UNV] program and
large international organizations) cover your basic travel
and living expenses, and give you a stipend.

volunteer work.
