African Liberation Day is celebrated on 25 May of each year. The origin of the event is at the First Conference of Independent African States held in Ghana on 15 May 1958. It was the first Pan-African conference held in the African Continent and in a newly independent nation.

The present chairperson of the African Union is Teodoro Obiang Nguema. He is (by his own words) a dictator. This single fact is enough to widely discredit the AU.

Most of African descendants and many of the non-African descendants have heard about the 'gates of no return'. One of those gates is located on the island of Gorée in present-day Senegal.
