Catholic Relief Services Egypt is seeking to fill the post of Social Counsellor for it\'s Refugee Education Project: 2007 - 2008. The Social Counsellor (SC) will assume responsibility for working with rest of team and beneficiaries in support of the awarded (sub) grant. Under the supervision and guidance of the PO and in close cooperation with other MQO working on this project, the Social Counselor will be responsible for sub grant-related implementation, timely and accurate reporting to PO, and representation to governmental and nongovernmental organizations if needed. As a SC you will be directly implementing activities in the refugee project, staff members. you will be directly involved in the interviewing process of refugees and asylum seekers applying for the grant and checking their eligibility, prepaying bank lists, conduct field visits for the refugee schools, following closely the attendance of refugee and asylum seekers students in their schools and implementing other activist with schools The work allows for a direct connection and communication with refugees. The program allows also bringing in new ideas and initiatives for developing this project and other refugee project

Specific Responsibilities
1- Prepare and Follow up with refugee schools the registration process for interview appointments.
2- Interview refugee applicants; check their documents and eligibility criteria.
3- Prepare data base for the refugee and prepare bank lists for cash disbursement for the applicants.
4- Conduct weekly visits for refugee schools and check student\'s attendance closely.
5- Assist the PO in the preparation of a Narrative report for UNHCR in February.
6- Conduct interviews in Alexandria and Zakazik for refugee applicants whose children enrolled in schools there.
7- Implement activities with different types of school or joint activities.
8- Other temporarily jobs that might arise as stated in the contract.

Supervisory: None Position Requirements and Qualifications Professional Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 1-2 years work experience in development and/or emergency programs
2. Excellent writing and communication skills
3. Strong cross-cultural skills and experience working with people from different ethnic/cultural backgrounds
4. Able to deal with different nationalities and vulnerable groups
5. Able to work under stress
6. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
7. Proven ability to write reports meeting donor requirements
8. Must be able to work independently and represent CRS
9. Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel)
10. Able to travel within Egypt (approximately 5%).
11. Must be able to communicate in Arabic and English.

Education:
Education: B.Sc. from a reputable Faculty-University.
