It is true that the issues being negotiated in the EPAs are complex and many of us do not understand them but that is no reason for any African government to exclude its own citizens from the discussion.

One cannot fault the author for suggesting that poverty and inequality create violent and unhealthy societies, however, just because a riot is provoked by poor service delivery does mean it is not also driven by xenophobia.
