‘As workers and taxpayers of this country, we were shocked and disgusted yesterday that President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga refused to attend the Uhuru Park workers' day celebrations, writes George Nyongesa, national coordinator of Kenya’s Bunge la Mwananchi (People’s Parliament).

We are deeply saddened by the demise of George Paul Oulu ( GPO) from the bullets of unknown assailants. GPO died in company of Kamau Kingara, Executive Director of OSCAR Foundation at around 6.30 pm on State House road. Important to note he was shot dead less than 1KM to Kenya's State House where the President of Kenya resides.

I am still disturbed over how President Kibaki’s and Prime Minister Raila's unpatriotic and selfish hunger for power-at-all-costs can be rewarded by honorary doctorate degrees conferred by the University of Nairobi!
