Description: The PHR Fellow will work with a dynamic and growing Asylum
Network, mobilizing health professionals to assist asylum seekers,
especially torture survivors. The Fellow will act as a liaison between
asylum lawyers and physicians who provide asylum evaluations for torture
survivors; help coordinate Asylum Network training seminars and
discussion groups; help coordinate program outcomes measurement;
research current human rights issues for potential PHR investigations;
provide administrative assistance.
Education: Bachelor (BA, BS, etc.)
Languages: English
Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated initiative, good judgment,
exceptional organizational skills & solid constituent relations skills;
Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain strict
confidentiality; Interest & preferably background in asylum law, torture
issues, health & human rights; Strong word processing, computer, web
skills; Database experience strongly preferred; Effective written &
verbal skills
