The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall management of C A S E, including financial matters, procurement of contracts and quality control. The successful candidate will combine highly developed research skills, leadership and managerial qualities. The Deputy Director will assist the Executive Director with both the general management of the organisation and procurement and execution of research projects.
C A S E is one of South Africa’s most successful research NGOs and has been self-financing for the past 5 years. Our annual turnover for 2004 is expected to exceed R 12 million. We are seeking to fill 2 positions, that of Executive Director and a newly-created post of Deputy-Director.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall management of C A S E, including financial matters, procurement of contracts and quality control. The successful candidate will combine highly developed research skills, leadership and managerial qualities. S/he will have a Doctorate and research experience or a Masters and considerable applied research experience. We expect a strong track record in applied research and publications. S/he will also have been in a relevant management position for at least 5 years. Familiarity with the research, NGO and political context in South Africa is essential.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR
The Deputy Director will assist the Executive Director with both the general management of the organisation and procurement and execution of research projects. The successful candidate will be a South African researcher with at least a Masters and extensive applied research experience.
The total salary packages offered are the range of R 350,000 to R 390,000 per annum for the Executive Director and between R 260 000 and R 290,000 for the Deputy Director. C A S E is an affirmative action employer, and black South African candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
